The climate research program StartClim was initiated by the climate research initiative AustroClim in 2002. It is a flexible means to promptly addressing current climate change issues by way of short project durations and through awarding projects on an annual basis. Within the framework of StartClim projects, interdisciplinary research into new topics concerning the climate or climate change can and should be conducted cross-disciplinary and from diverse perspectives.

Austrian Climate Research Programme (ACRP)

The ACRP provides funding for basic research on climate change in the areas of “Understanding the climate system and consequences of climate change”, “Responding to Austria’s policy community”, “The human dimensions of climate change” and “Governance and transformation”.

Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)

The FFG is the national funding agency for industrial research in Austria. It supports Austrian businesses, research institutions, and researchers with a comprehensive range of funding and services and represents Austrian interests at European and international levels.

One of the FFG’s services is the Funding Pilot, a tool for quickly locating suitable funding for a specific project. The www.foerderpilot.at provides an overview of research and business funding in Austria.

 

Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research (FWF)

The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is Austria’s central funding organisation for basic research. It serves the advancement of the sciences on a high international level. The FWF contributes to cultural development, the advancement of a knowledge-based society and thus to the increase of added value and prosperity in Austria.
