Organisation Structure

The organization of the AAR14 follows the model of the IPCC Assessment Reports. It contains 3 volumes, each coordinated by 3-4 „Co-Chairs“.

Chapters of the report were elaborated by 2 „Coordinating Lead Authors“ (CLA), who coordinated the contributions by the „Leas Authors“ (LA) and the „Contributing Authors“ (CA). The “Organisational Committee“ (N. Nakicenovic/TU Wien und IIASA, H. Kromp-Kolb/BOKU; K. Steininger/Wegener Center Universität Graz) organized the project.

Heads of the „Scientific Advisory Board“ (SAB) are J. Jäger (Independent Scholar), D. Jacob (Climate Service Center) and D. Messner (German Development Institute). The external review was carried out by IIASA under the direction of K. Riahi and M. Rogner.

Based on the concepts of the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) the extensive and substantial body of work has been carried out gratuitously by the researchers. The Austrian Climate Research Program (ACRP) of the
Klima- und Energiefonds (Climate and Energy Fund) has financed the coordinating activities and material costs of the report.

Stakeholder Involvement

The consolidated overview and the collation of available scientific knowledge and results about climate change in Austria provide an important basis for policy makers.

On 23 January 2012, the first APCC Stakeholder Workshop took place at the Technical University in Vienna. 80 attendees particpated in structuring the AAR14, togehter with the reports authors. On 16 Juli 2013 the second APCC Stakeholder Workshop took also place at the Technical University in Vienna, again with large attendance.
